'Response ability' is a selection of Frank Fisher's writings over three decades covering his thinking and work as a social activist in the field of environmental science. Through the perspective of social constructivism, Frank provides definitions of the social construction of reality and of being capable of response through the new interpretations that an understanding of social frameworks offers. Within this context he discusses issues, such as energy, transport and other environmental concerns; illness and disability and ends with taking effective action for social change. The thrust of this book is to demonstrate that people can take responsibility in their relationships with their environment in some interesting and transformative ways---transformative of the contexts of their physical, mental and social wellbeing.
