Good communication in a business context requires a student to select the most appropriate mode of communication (e.g., email, meeting, telephone or fax) and construct an appropriate message. The student has to make decisions regarding content, style of communication, and when to use a particular mode. The student is then faced with the consequences of their actions. This paper presents an innovative approach to addressing these three issues in an interactive CD-Rom environment and preliminary formative evaluation undertaken as part of the development of the software.
