The building and construction industry is one of the biggest drivers in the Australian economy. For the period of 2013-2020, the Australian Government has allocated a total investment of $70 Billion to the building and construction industry alone. A recent survey done by the Australian Industry Group-Australian Constructors Association concluded that within 2017-18 major project works will increase by 7.1% and then by another 6.8% in 2018-19.Railway infrastructure is prime large scale construction, with a short development cyclein Victoria. Current issues faced within construction of railway crossing removal were shortconstruction times, reduced quality and reworks, repetition; adding to productivity losses. This paper presents a case study on enhancing productivity in railway cross removalutilising novice building information modelling, visualisation and cloud computingtechniques. Furthermore, the model connected to enterprise resource planning ispresented for timely delivery, accurate status traceability, enhanced productivity andimproved business operations in construction environments.
