Effective coordination for cooperation support in web-based process-centred teamwork environments

Coordination is essential and critical to Web-based process-centered teamwork support systems. Decisionmaking is a key issue for teamwork coordination. This paper describes our innovative prototype and proposes a novel fine-grained decision-making policy for coordinating teamwork processes. Due to the flexibility of this fine-grained decision-making policy, teamwork coordination has been made much more effective and practical. In reality, the proposed decision-making policy can reduce the waiting time for launching individual subtasks in a teamwork task and hence has the potential to further increase the teamwork productivity.
