The past decade has seen numerous new applications of RFID in many domains. In the current literature today, we can also find many theory based research in Information Systems that examine factors that influence the adoption of new technology. However, there is no evidence based research in pre-adoption phase, especially in the context of emergency management. What is the potential of adopting RFID in emergency management? In order to answer this question, we conduct a multiple case study to develop an adoption framework. This framework is based on the concept of Task-technology fit. We hope that the findings of this research will not only enhance the research in technology adoption, but also assist the emergency management organizations to better plan the adoption of RFID for emergency operations.
