At this meeting HST++ has earned its place on NASA's Origins theme 2003 roadmap as the large UV / optical mission. The strategic high ground HST++ should occupy is wide-field high-resolution imaging and ultraviolet spectroscopy. Key projects include the evolution of the intergalactic medium, the first generation of stars in the Local Group, and the expansion of the Universe.
