Data from the 2000 Australian Tennis Open are used to measure the advantage of serving with new balls in both men’s and women’s singles. We discuss the main fea-tures of the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles at the Australian Open in 2001. Data from a variety of sources are used to compare the server’s advantage at Wimbledon, the French and the Australian Open.
