AWA today is an information technology services business. Its headquarters arc at Homebush West in Sydney and it has offices in the other four mainland state capitals and Newcastle. According to a director and large shareholder, John Dougall, the business turns over around $40 million in annual revenue, employs about 300 full-time staff and 700 agents in rural, regional and remote Australia, and averages about 1,000 field visits to customers each day. Dougall led a management buy-out of this business from Tabcorp in 2004. Tabcorp acquired it the previous year when it took over Jupiters, owner of AWA since 2000. The casino operator had acquired AWA for the gaming business built over the previous decade.
