journal contribution
posted on 2024-07-12, 20:39 authored by Seán O'HalloranThe global telecommunications industry cannot ignore the looming explosion of energy consumption associated with network data growth. Improving equipment efficiency is one thing, but the scale of growth and sheer complexity of the network requires a new approach. Alcatel-Lucent, through its investment in the University of Melbourne's Centre for Energy Efficient Telecommunications is leading the way, rethinking network architecture with an efficiency foundation. But solutions won't be found in isolation and greater collaboration is required for Australian industry to establish a collective leadership on energy efficiency. © 2012 Swinburne University of Technology.
