Creative research brings with it a form of 'in-experience', an immersion into the performance nature of artistic research. In the lightest form of creative practice, 'Real life vignettes' is an evocative exercise in applying intuition, attention and experimentation in the gratification of art. It helps me contextualise 'otherliness' where I discern a new texture in how I perceive-with a level of bias- the creations of others: the sculpted nakedness of a hammer thrower on a lone island in Queen Victoria Gardens; a vivid intersection of performance theatre and contemporary art at the Victorian Arts Centre; a dark world of complex cinematography in Julia Leigh's 'The sleeping beauty'; and the eerie beauty of sullied love in an anguished duet.
