The Parliamentary press gallery: insular, intrusive or indispensable?

An argument is presented questioning the insularity, intrusiveness and indispensability of the Parliamentary Press Gallery. It is considered that the gallery's insularity leads to it being not intrusive enough at times as they are simply too near to be able to survive, with the consequences of intrusion.
