The representation and exploration of the unspeakable aspects of experience by trash culture is discussed through an analysis of John Waters' film 'Pink Flamingos' (1972) which is considered a cult classic of bad taste and obscenity. The film and other such works are considered to highlight that cultural studies do not possess a language to describe trash culture and its aim of offering a critique of the normality in society.
