Universal telecommunications service for the 21st century

The Australian Parliament passed a suite of legislation in March 2012 dealing with the provision of Universal Service in the transition to the National Broadband Network (NBN). Whilst this legislation addresses the maintenance of the current Standard Telephony Service, it does not define what a Universal Telecommunications Service should be in the era of the NBN, This article looks at options for the future Universal Service.
