'The Matrix': cult classic or computerized con?

The first image on the screen is of a computer print-out. Nothing you can actually read or understand. Then there's a conversation between a woman and a guy about Morpheus, followed by some men in dark glasses racing around after a very athletic young woman, who may or may not be the one we've just heard speaking.
