Research has found that children want more of a say in their future care arrangements after their parents' separation, and that they feel marginalised by family law system processes and perceive that adults do not listen to or care about their views. In this webinar, Justice Joshua Wilson (Family Court of Australia), Darren Mort (barrister and founder of To Be Loved Network), and Dr Georgina Dimopoulos (Law lecturer, Swinburne University of Technology) will discuss ways to promote children's participation in family law proceedings, including the practice of judges meeting with children, the role of family consultants and Independent Children's Lawyers, and the relevance of children's rights in this context. The discussion will be moderated by Senior Registrar Rohan Hoult (Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia).
