This report provides qualitative insights into the response of Victorian Chinese communities to ageing. The research project behind the report also sought to understand the nature of communitylevel philanthropic responses to the specific challenges faced by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities with an ageing population, and how this is reflected in terms of access, recognition and representation. By investigating Chinese Australians' responses to community ageing, this study seeks to act as a pilot project for establishing the evidentiary basis critical to the development of a social inclusion strategy for the philanthropic sector and associated plans for action. After analysing the interview data it was found that the conceptual framework was applicable in a range of ways - both foreseen and unforeseen.
