Information governance and information management as a service: survey report 2023

This report presents the findings from an online questionnaire conducted by Swinburne University of Technology and Information Management specialist, Astral Consulting Services, between November 2022 – January 2023, to gauge industry’s experience of the challenges ahead for Enterprise Information Management in massive document and records environments. The report present current industry perspectives across 4 key areas: views on, (i) Information Governance & Security, (ii) Enterprise Information Management practice, (iii) the delivery of Information Management as a Service, and (iv) the control of vital business information assets. With respondents rating the current state of Information Governance in their organisations as poor overall, significant findings in this study point to the challenges ahead for improving Information Governance, and the changes in Information Management practice that will be required to manage the increasing volume of information created and communicated across complex, hybrid, networked and virtualised work environments.
