An appropriately skilled workforce is central to effective responses to homelessness and to successful implementation of national homelessness policy and service- delivery reforms. The development of the homelessness workforce was identified as a priority in the 2008 Homelessness White Paper, The Road Home. This research was carried out in three case-study states: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. It confirms that specific training and development opportunities targeted at the homelessness sector are an important part of developing the homelessness sector.
