This research project is the first comprehensive investigation of Sri Lankan Australians' mental health literacy, stigma beliefs, and facilitators to mental health service engagement; and helped provide insights into factors that may be resulting in Sri Lankan-born Australians having one of the lowest mental health service access rates compared to the Australian-born population. This project found that improving access requires a multi-faceted, culturally responsive approach. This project generated clinical implications, service recommendations, and a provisional framework that could be used to directly translate findings into a community intervention, that is likely to benefit community members and health professionals alike.
