This thesis investigates both firm-specific and macroeconomic factors that drive the share price movements of Real Estate Investment Trusts in Malaysia. The identification of factors was carried out through a literature review and synthesis, and a 3-stage variable selection process was conducted so that only independent variables that would add the most value to the analysis were put through to the analysis. 17 REITs listed on Bursa Malaysia were studied. Knowing what drives their share price movements reduces uncertainty and strengthens the confidence of investors to make more informed decisions to invest in them, both conventional and shariah-compliant ones.
