This study compared a Tactical Game-centred Approach (TGA) with a Technical Approach (TA) sport units when teaching Physical Education (PE) across 2 units. Participants: 67 Years 5 and 6 girls.
Data was collected on a range of student outcomes; fundamental movement skills (FMS), in-game skills. motivation, enjoyment and physical activity.
FMS development significantly increased for the TA. In-game skills improved more for the TGA but not significantly. Enjoyment improved significantly more in the TGA. The TGA produced significantly higher levels of physical activity.
