A concept-based clustering approach to clinical information retrieval

Dr. Vong studied the use of medical literature to answer clinical questions with the best available research evidence. She investigated how to determine the quality of clinical evidence and how to extract the most useful knowledge from medical documents. She developed a novel approach to cluster and visualize a collection of documents for supporting the information search process. The approach can be applied to develop a question answering system for answering clinical questions at the point of care and for facilitating the integration of research evidence into clinical decision making.
