This study investigated important moments in the group therapy experience of people undergoing treatment for social anxiety disorder. Participants were invited to talk about their experiences in the group, which generated information about: the nature of therapeutic change in social anxiety disorder; and how the group therapy contributed to this change. These findings highlight a number of practical ways in which existing group therapy treatments for social anxiety can be improved.
