Advanced structures for delivery of growth factors

Growth factors are biochemical molecules that can drive specific cell fates. Lilith M. Caballero Aguilar completed her thesis titled 'Advanced structures for delivery of growth factors' in which she studied the key mediating parameters for the delivery of growth factors in tissue engineering platforms. Her investigation showed that the interaction between the biological considerations, the material and the delivery strategy, are pivotal components for optimal delivery of biologicals. She developed two novel delivery strategies and a protocol for synergistic encapsulation of bioactive agents.
