The cloud computing model allows computing resources to be provided and accessed as services. That model has been widely accepted, and the increasing number of providers and consumers are forming a large-scale marketplace of cloud services. This thesis investigates the problem of automated cloud services trading where the primary resources, i.e. cloud infrastructure, are offered in a similar way to the trading of other utilities between buyers and sellers. In this work, we design single-sided and double-sided market mechanisms for trading homogeneous and heterogeneous cloud services and study their economic properties and the overall efficiency in theoretical and experimental investigations.
