Analysis and Parameter Estimation of Lateral Dynamics for Road Vehicles

thesis
posted on 2024-07-30, 05:46 authored by Zhangwei Xu
Analysis and parameter estimation of lateral vehicle dynamics are essential research topics for strengthening the sensory of vehicle information. This thesis explores a few new properties of lateral vehicle dynamics. Based on these findings, an integrated approach is proposed, which requires very few signals from regular vehicle sensors to estimate many hard-to-measure vehicle quantities, such as the parameters and states of lateral vehicle dynamics and vehicle inertial quantities. It is believed that this research will play a leading role in developing the next-generation vehicle state estimation, parameter identification, stability control and soft-sensing algorithm designs in the area of vehicle informatics.
