Geopolymer is an environmentally sustainable alternative to conventional Portland cement (OPC) with promising engineering and durability properties. Despite many years of research, the widespread usage of this new technology has been hindered due to many factors including, the difficulties in readily adopting the conventional concrete production facilities. In this study, a new ambient cured geopolymer concrete binder, suitable for practical implementation was developed that uses granular alkali activator. Extensive analysis of the developed geopolymer binder showed that it has comparable mechanical and durability properties to OPC concrete.
