Building Information modelling (BIM) is perceived as a holistic solution for digital integration of various building attributes. It is anticipated that sustainability aspects can be addressed through appropriate BIM application. Green Building Index (GBI) as one of the Malaysian green building rating system can potentially transition from conventional process to an automated approach. A prototype tool, Automated Green Building Assessment tool (AGBIA), is developed using visual programming (Dynamo) to run as a supplementary application for Revit software (BIM authoring tool). AGBIA is designed to automatically analyse digital BIM models and ultimately produce the GBI provisional rating and supporting documentation for certification.
