The proper selection of aggregates to construct workable granular base materials requires deep understanding of behaviour of the materials. As there is a growing demand to use the locally available materials, which do not necessarily meet the specifications, it is necessary to understand and evaluate the performance of the non-standard materials. In this research a performance-based test method was adopted and modified to investigate the performance of the investigated materials. In-depth analysis of the results confirmed the capability of this test method in providing the essential information which are critical to understand the behaviour of unknown materials in pavement designs.
