The thesis explores Community-based Tourism (CBT), which involves local communities actively participating in managing tourism businesses to create enriching experiences for tourists and themselves. It investigates collaborative value and wellbeing creation among various actors, drawing on service-dominant logic and social exchange theory. Qualitative research in Phillip Island, Australia, uncovers diverse cocreation activities and outcomes, shedding light on tourists' and locals' evolving value perception over time. Furthermore, it explores how individuals experience wellbeing through connections with themselves, others, and nature. This research enhances understanding of multi-actor value cocreation in CBT destinations, providing insights for sustainable and inclusive tourism practices.
