The research for this thesis focused upon an exploration of the Victorian WorkCover Authority's stress claims process as experienced by Victorian state teacher stress claimants. Participants underwent face-to-face recorded interviews using Grounded Theory questioning techniques regarding what it was like for them being WorkCover stress claimants and how, in their opinion, the stress claims process could be improved. The results of the research found that the claims process is imbalanced, that it is alienating, marginalizing and lacking in individualization for participants; and, that it is overly bureaucratic. The findings in this research are valuable for informing policy production.
