To better understand the complexities of the Universe, it is critical to develop a holistic model of its growth throughout all stages of its lifetime. This thesis investigates the first billion years of the Universe, a time period filled with many unanswered questions as modern astronomical instruments have only begun probing its secrets. By simulating galaxies during this early time, this thesis provides the foundation for gaining a deeper and richer understanding of the mechanics that govern the Universe.
