This research explored the integration of cultural elements and themes in the development of learning interfaces. It adopted the Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach to investigate, develop, test, and evaluate a Learning Management System (LMS) interface for university students in Papua New Guinea (PNG) including other smaller Pacific Island countries. The research demonstrated that incorporating indigenous cultures and knowledge in LMS through cultural elements like headdresses, traditional designs, or local language, it can create an awareness of indigenous knowledge, encouraging self-esteem and interest in learning for university students.
