Severe hailstorms may cause substantial damage in urban areas, leading to high costs for repairing or replacing windows, vehicles and building claddings. The severity of the impact depends on various factors, including the mass, the velocity and the strength of the hail ice. This research investigates the factors that influence the severity of hail ice impacts and explores the potential to predict the deformation of a metallic plate subjected to such impacts, offering insights for further studies on hail ice impact phenomena.
