Design and analysis of unipolar magnetic coupler with improved performance for dynamic wireless power transfer applications

thesis
posted on 2024-08-29, 04:53 authored by Hassan Khalid

The proposed research aims to develop a magnetic coupler with improved performance characteristics for static and dynamic inductive power transfer electric vehicle charging applications. The designed magnetic coupler allows maximum power transfer at an efficiency of around 93%. The proposed magnetic coupler achieves a maximum coupling coefficient with 98% misalignment tolerance in static charging applications. The dynamic track with multiple transmitters offers very low mutual inductance with neighboring transmitters and the output fluctuations are around 1.3%. These superior characteristics make the proposed design compete both conventional and modern magnetic couplers.
