Social media technologies are changing the way people interact with heritage. With the prevalence of social media, grassroots communities are now able to come together and connect with their shared past easily - beyond highly curated memory institutions. However, preliminary studies showed that user participation in community digital heritage initiatives beyond social networks, tend to be low. Hence, the study seeks to design a user-centered mobile application to collect heritage stories based on the collective intelligence framework. The study contributes insights and design guidelines on how such platform can be designed to enhance heritage education through stories.
