T cell is a type of white blood cell, that plays a pivotal role in cell-mediated immunity. T cells predominantly develop in an organ called the thymus, where the thymic cells provide essential cues for T cells development. To this date, the exact mechanisms regulating T cell development remain poorly understood. I provide evidence that the cross-talk between developing T cells and surrounding microenvironment requires assembly of a platform to support signaling of the key cell surface receptor, pre-TCR. The assembly of this platform is critical for T cell passage beyond the critical selection checkpoint, beta-selection.
