Development and evaluation of a flight collision avoidance system in a free-flight environment

Dr Ibrahim developed and evaluated a collision avoidance system that complements the current Traffic Conflict Avoidance System (TCAS) within supports pilots in environments not fully managed by Air Traffic Controllers. His study extends the understanding of the separation of aircraft by pilots, through interactive visualisation of flight constraints that enhance situation awareness, conflict detection and resolution, and decision making. His contributions have provided important insights into conflict management and policy for the air transportation industry.
