Ground anchors are utilized throughout the construction industry in a temporary and permanent capacity for a myriad of structures. Steel is the prevalent material although the use of carbon fibre in this industry has been researched. Due to fibre’s high cost and the difficulty in gripping and stressing, adoption of the material has been stagnant. Gripping attachments and techniques in this research were developed in order to address the adoption issue. Two systems were researched and were shown to be successful, with one system being taken to a full scale test under the auspices of industry ground anchor installers.
