There is a dire need to find appropriate technological and managerial solutions to deal with waste/scrap arising out of various manufacturing processes. Focus of the proposed research is directed towards the development and investigation of some technologies to tackle the problem of scrap. Developed coatings, feedstock powder particles, and additive manufacturing processes using waste swarf particles are breakthrough technologies and can be used simultaneously to coat and print some useful products for commercial applications. The scrap recycling concept contributes to circular economy and sustainability by utilizing the waste chips/swarf as powder feedstock in powder metallurgy, metal coating and additive manufacturing.
