The goal of this thesis is to construct models of star clusters and use them to analyse the internal assembly history of our Galaxy through an accurate dynamical approach. Of particular importance is to identify early dissolution events of clusters and the extent to which it is possible to reconstruct them. I have extended the limits of NBODY6 by post-analysing the data from dissolved clusters with an orbit integrator code. I have obtained accurate predictions for the dynamical evolution of clusters, the subsequent kinematics of stars that escape from them and constrain efforts to unravel the evolution of the Galaxy.
