The thesis titled “Effects of Vanadium Incorporation on the Structure and Reactivity of NiFe Layer Double Hydroxides” is important in view of the current energy scenario of the world population given the existing most common fuel source is fossil fuels. This thesis is specifically based on the potential area of research where the researchers are focussing on the design of water oxidation catalyst based on abundant and cheap metal ions, iron, and nickel. Further efforts have been made to improve the efficiency of the NiFe-based double-layered hydroxides by systematic doping with vanadium. The catalysts have been intensely characterized by a number of analytical and characterization techniques, namely BET, XRD, TEM, ICP-OES, XPS, XAS to systematically analyse the functional effects of structural disorder in NiFe layered double hydroxides in presence of vanadium.
