In today's world, technology is ubiquitous. Like any other industry, higher education institutes are introducing and increasingly using technology for various reasons. As a result, academics are increasingly under pressure to learn and adopt technologies in their teaching. This thesis investigates the factors influencing the adoption and use of educational technologies by academics. It also identifies significant differences between the adoption and use of voluntary and mandatory technology. Recommendations generated in this thesis are expected to be useful for wider technology adoption and effective management of technological changes in higher education institutions in the Australian context.
