Dr Fengxian He studied battery energy management systems in underground mine electric vehicles for Australian mine industries. An underground mine electric vehicle model was established to investigate battery packs requirements. A battery sorting method was proposed to build battery packs and battery pack state of charge estimation algorithm was applied to the battery management system to optimize vehicle energy and power flow. Different types of battery pack experiments were conducted under underground mine electric vehicle operation conditions. The experimental results were used in vehicle simulation to validate battery packs performances. The outcomes contribute to current underground mine electric vehicle field.
