There was an ongoing need for the improvement in the design engineer's strategy. This research developed 'A Theoretical Model for Improving the Quality of the Experience of the Design Engineer'. The cornerstone of this model was the concept of the 'ideal-design-engineer', in identity and role, that embodied the cultural ideals of the engineering design activity. A main conclusion put forward for further research consideration and debate, was that 'a sustainable culture, emerged from a peaceful intention', and was to be disciplined, or regulated, in practice by applying the principle of 'only make decisions that you can reverse the consequences of'.
