Voice hearing is a typically distressing and impairing experience common to psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia. It may be possible to help people to self-manage these experiences more effectively in daily life using specialised smartphone technologies. This research evaluated a highly novel, digitally-supported intervention for improving self-management of voice hearing experiences. Using a blended approach whereby a smartphone application was used in conjunction with standard therapy, the intervention was found to be helpful, useful, and showed potential for improving clinical outcomes. This research contributes knowledge about how smartphone technology can be used to support and enhance psychological therapy.
