This thesis aims to improve productivity and accuracy of manufacturing processes in manufacturing shop floor environment via the development, real-world deployment. Besides, this thesis describes evaluation of a low cost Internet of Things (IoT) solution in developing nations, especially in Malaysia. Experimental trials conducted in a Metal Stamping manufacturing plant indicated the low cost Internet of Things (IoT) solution is able to capture and deliver data about machine operations during production with a high level of accuracy (over 95%), that in turn helps minimize the time gap between processes and optimize the manufacturing processes.
