Mobile learning (m-learning) is an emerging trend that deserves attention, offering substantial benefits to education and business. Using a Community of Practice (CoP) perspective this study explores the relationship challenges and difficulties organisations have in implementing m-learning initiatives. The exploratory nature of this study has provided many insights and contributions to the m-learning body of knowledge, CoP theory and m-learning practice. In particular, this study demonstrates that m-learning initiatives are socially complex and m-learning practitioners must build strong interpersonal connections with stakeholders to navigate the constraints imposed by the organisational context.
