The thesis titled Generalized hydrodynamics in simple nanoscale systems, aims to improve the understanding of the dynamics of liquids on the nanoscale. The dynamics on these scales differs from the dynamics on larger scales. Using the framework of hydrodynamics to describe nanoscale dynamics must be done carefully, and we show that by taking into account the length scale and or frequency dependence of the transport coefficients, hydrodynamics can be used to interpret data at surprisingly small length scales. This research is important to develop nanometer sized Lab On a Chip (LOC) devices, with micrometer sized devices already being used successfully.
