Children are consumers of a wide variety of media technologies, including TV, video games, touchscreen and more recently, virtual reality (VR). Historically, every time new technology is introduced in our lives, it comes with concerns and doubts about the potential, benefits, and effects on children. While VR technology has been predominately used with adults, some pilot studies have established the value of using VR in different disciplines related to its use with children; however, these are not abundant. This research body focuses on investigating the most evidence-based applications of immersive VR with children and the effects of this technology on children's cognition and learning.
